Yes…we did the tourist thing in Hollywood. Maddie was so excited to see the HOLLYWOOD sign.
We walked Hollywood Blvd and checked out some of the stars. Below is a star for all of the Little House on the Prairie fans. Maddie is watching the series right now while we travel and she was quite excited to see this star!
Going to Hollywood Blvd early on a Saturday morning has its pluses; the streets were really quiet for a couple hours.
We drove around Hollywood, Malibu and Santa Monica taking it all in. We saw Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills and the Santa Monica Pier. Lots of strange sights and unique people.
33 celcius! November what???
The famous Capitol Records at Hollywood and Vine.
We had an awesome time at Universal Studios. We managed to go on all the rides and see all of the attractions in a 6 hour time frame.
Maddie on the red carpet.
Kevin and Stewart for all of the minion fans out there!
Hanging out in Krusty Land just before getting on the Simpsons ride, which was both Bob and Maddie’s favourite ride.
The Bobs.
We went on a Friday, so we didn’t have to wait in long line ups (except for when we ran into the Japanese tour groups).
A lot of the rides were 3D and 4D. Not only did we have the 3D experience, we also got wet. The funniest was Shrek 4d when Donkey sneezed all over us. Ewwwww.
Here we are waiting to get on the minion ride.
We saw the Waterworld production which was very cool. The performers were squirting the crowd with super soakers as they walked in. Maddie wanted us to sit in the soak zone but didn’t get a single drop of water on us.
The Waterworld finale was over the top. A real float plane dropped into the water amidst all of the pyrotechnics.
Here I am having a little one on one with Marilyn Monroe.
Next up… Las Vegas!!
I love Universal – been there 6 or 7 times and it never gets old – but I haven’t seen it for awhile – have to go back soon! – lt
Ohh, 33 degrees celsius! I think of you all, as I experience -2 in about 20 minutes. xox Mom/Oma/Truda
