Feliz Navidad! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
Bob, Maddie and I went out for dinner Christmas Eve. Two of a kind. Now you know where Maddie gets some of the looks from!
A mariachi band played a song for us while we ate. A great rendition of Gypsy Kings “Bamboleo”. Very cool!
We had a very different Christmas this year. First time we have ever been away from family over the holidays. Together with several of our neighbours, we had a potluck Christmas dinner. In place of the traditional turkey dinner, we had bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp. Yummy! We also had a lovely american potato salad and a green salad. I meant to take a photo of the food but I was too busy diving into the delicious meal!!

We played a few games in the afternoon and had a blast. First we played some bocce ball on the beach.
After dinner, we played Mölkky. It is a really fun Finnish throwing game our friend Doug made. He made this set and gave them out as Christmas presents to his family one year. We liked the game so much that we are going to attempt to make our own set when we have access to some tools! The game involves you throwing a wooden log (molkky) and hitting numbered wooden logs (skittles) that are standing up. There is more to it than that but you get the idea.

Beautiful sunset on Christmas Day.
Sounds like you’ve had a lovely Christmas Jill-O. We had a chilly, white Christmas and mine was filled will family and too much food – typical. I am still thinking about coming for a visit in Feb or March – depending on my mom’s and dad’s health. I have to get my passport renewed too. If things work out and depending on where you are, it’ll be a last minute trip I think. I love Maddie’s corn rows – she looks like she’s thriving. And it looks like you all are connecting with fellow vagabonds – so glad you are enjoying life! Miss you@
Looking forward to seeing you in the New Year! We will be in Mazatlan in February. Probably leaving Puerto Penasco January 20th.
Hi Everyone! Merry Christmas again! Does it feel strange to be on a beach at this time of year? Or did that thought evaporate as soon as you experienced all the heat and sunshine! I had Christmas at Nicole and Chris’s along with Eileen, Shawn, Dad and Gayle and Hayden. It was a good get together once I dealt with a flat tire just before the turnoff for Errington. And at 3 pm Christmas Eve. The only tire changers around were working til 5 pm at Canadian Tire in Nanaimo. So after some nice couple helped put on my spare tire, I drove 70 km/h to Nanaimo and got a brand new tire put on, and then back to Nicole and Chris’s. Was starvin’ like Marvin! Lots of great food. All was well after all. …Just love this way of communication. Photos and a few comments. Great stuff. Love the beautiful sunset, with those horses ambling along the beach. xox Truda Mom Oma
Glad to hear that you managed to get your tire sorted out…hard to do on Christmas Eve! Surprised anyone was working that late in the day. Happy to hear that you are enjoying our blog! More to come…
