We had to stop in Tombstone and get a feel for the Wild West.
We spent the day walking down the streets and checking out the shops and museums. There were a lot of the original buildings still standing.

There were lots of actors and actresses dressed up in full western wear eager to get you involved in a shoot out or in Bob’s case hung.
Maddie nailed this pose!

Carriage from the 1870’s and 1880’s.

Actual site of the gun fight with statues marking where the cowboys and lawmen were standing.
We watched a reenactment of the gun fight. The actors did a great job in engaging the audience as well as adding some humour to the production.

We stopped at Boothill Cemetery and it was quite interesting to read all the tombstones. The wild west was crazy as you can see by some of the grave markers. Most of the grave markers are not original unfortunately. They were replicated as best they could after a flood destroyed most of them.
The casualties of the infamous gun fight between outlaw cowboys and opposing lawmen: Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, Morgan Earp and temporary law Doc Holliday.
Only in the wild west! “Hung by mistake 1882 – He was right, we was wrong but we strung him up and now he’s gone”.
