We wanted to fly Tyler to Mazatlan for a visit in January but he was unable to take time off until April. As we were heading North, we decided to fly him out to Vegas.
I took him out to the Hoover Dam and did the tour. No pictures this time as I already posted on it when we came through last year.
We took a day trip out to Red Rock Canyon, which was about half an hour away.

We stayed three nights at Circus Circus, and toured Vegas during the day and night.
500lb solid chocolate statue of liberty at the Hersey store.
Wine elevator. I want one!
Here is the Praying Mantis made of recycled metal in container park near the entrance to Fremont Street. It shot huge balls of fire from its antennae. The man operating the beast is an aerospace engineer named Kirk Jellum.
If you look closely at the ceiling you will see cables. These are actual zip lines that you shoot all the way down the street on. We were all gung ho until we saw the line up. Maybe next time.

Prince had just passed away. Lots of tributes for him in Vegas while we were there.
The Golden Nugget on Fremont street has a water slide that goes through a shark tank.
(Jaws theme song) duunnn dunnn… duuuunnnn duun… duuunnnnnnnn dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnn dunnnn. Slightly traumatized by that movie.
Beautiful glass flowers. Maddie took the next 4 pictures.
Botanical Gardens inside the Bellagio. There are over 10,000 plants that they replace every 2 weeks.

Ceiling inside the Venetian. Looks so real.
We also took a day trip out to the Valley of Fire State Park, which was about an hour drive northeast of Las Vegas.
It is a short drive through the park, but to hike you need a lot of time, water and good shoes. Basically you need to come prepared for a long day and you will want to.

I have lost track of how many lizards we have seen on our trip but I never get tired of watching these little guys.

So beautiful.
Some petroglyphs along the trail.
Nice hat, Tyler!
