We were involved in a fundraiser (RV Park valentine’s raffle and concert by Justin Lacey) for one of the poorest neighbourhoods in Mazatlan and raised over 11,000 pesos. All the money went towards making food hampers which included rice, beans, oil, flour, toilet paper, pasta, tomato sauce, salt, sugar and condensed milk.
We made a total of 101 hampers and had a lot of leftover rice, beans, oil and tomato sauce to hand out to the families.
Instead of going through a charitable organization, we had the guidance of a local hairdresser and friend named Rosy. She helped us shop for the food and organized the delivery to the neighbourhood. It was great to see 100% of the fundraiser go directly to the community.

The RV Park collected donations of clothing and other miscellaneous items. They were really appreciated. There was only one blanket and we quickly learned this was a very needed item.

Our girls handed out their hand-made bracelets to the local girls. Lots of smiles from all.

The homes were mostly make shift shacks with no water or sewer.
Bus donations from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada! A long way from home.
