Maddie took this photo while driving to El Fuerte. Love it!
There were so many trucks transporting produce. These tomatoes are probably destined to be salsa because there is a “La Costena” factory in the background.
Tonnes of tomatoes. There must have been over thirty trucks fully loaded.
More produce…onions this time.
We stayed at Hotel Bugambilias because they accommodate RVs and it was close to the train station. The owners were very friendly and spoke a bit of english. The owner made arrangements for us to get a taxi to and from the station. The only downfall to staying here were the guard dogs that barked all night at everything. Easily remedied with some ear plugs.

It was great to hang out with our friends in such a beautiful place.

The next day we took a taxi to the station to get on board the Chepe Train. It was about a six hour train ride to the Posada Barrancas station.

We stayed four nights at the Mansion Tarahumara Hotel in a very small town called Areponapuchi. Beautiful place with lots of stone work.
There was a stone pathway that led you to an amazing view of the canyon. We went on a couple hikes a long the rim to the adventure park.

We ventured into town to check it out.

The food at the hotel was a bit pricy so we decided to give this restaurant a try. We had some delicious home cooked meals here.
Beautiful place to have a meal.

We had so many pictures and no wifi that I decided to break the post up. Next up …the adventure park and Creel.
Great pictures of the area, animals and scenery..Donkeys are a fave here! 😀
