Back in the USA, we stopped at Lake Havasu for a few days. Great dry camping on BLM land. We stayed here last year and loved this place. Great stargazing, hiking and stand up paddle boarding.

Below are some pictures from our hike at Sara’s Crack. One of the most memorable hikes we have done.

The yellow string like material is a parasitic plant that eventually strangles the host plant. We saw so much of it in this area that we had to google it. It is called cuscuta (dodder) and is part of the morning glory family. I was amused by the wikipedia folk names: strangle tare, scaldweed, beggarweed, lady’s laces, fireweed, wizard’s net, devil’s guts, devil’s hair, devil’s ringlet, goldthread, hailweed, hairweed, hellbine, love vine, pull-down, strangleweed, angel hair, and witch’s hair.
This is where the hike became a lot more fun.

Lunch time with a view.

Maddie was up the wall so fast that I didn’t get a picture!
One handed and in flip flops. Seriously…

Strange bugs stuck together…
Neat rock formations, that would have def been a fun hike to do. I have to pay attention to what you gals are wearing sometimes…because in some photos, I think I am looking at you (Jill) and it is actually Maddy or vice versa!! XD
