After an amazing week exploring Maui, we flew to Oahu to board the Ovation of the Seas cruise ship. The 9 day cruise left from Honolulu, Oahu and cruised to the Napali coast, Kauai and Kona, Hawaii before leaving for Vancouver, British Columbia.
The cruise ship is enormous! So many things to do and see. Shows, wave riding, sports, swimming, shopping, bumper cars and so much more!

There are two banks of elevators, each with 6 elevators. It is a floating apartment building!

Our room was great. I slept really good the entire trip. It might have had something to do with the Pipiwai Trail hike on Maui or the fact we were on the 11th floor of the ship and used the stairs. We loved having the balcony.

Napoli coast, Kauai.

We were shuttled to shore to explore Kailua-Kona.

After Kailua-Kona, we left for Vancouver. We saw dolphins from the 15th floor but they looked like little fish from so high up. We were on open ocean for 5 days. During passage, one of the guests on board suffered a heart attack and the ship had to detour in order to meet up with Helicopter Medivac. The helicopter was refueled three times by an aircraft while attempting to land on the ship to collect the patient in dire need of medical attention.

Vancouver City with Mt. Baker in the background.

Going under the Lions Gate Bridge. Not much room to spare!

Arriving at Vancouver port right beside Canada Place and two much smaller cruise ships.

looks like you thoroughly enjoyed your holiday. What a huge cruise ship. A village on its own. Love Happy
Much like your trip, I did a Hawaiian cruise but on a different cruise line where we toured the islands for 5 days and then sailed back to Vancouver. We did a bunch of excursions – snorkeling, went on a submarine and a catamaran that spinner dolphins raced in front of the boat. Cruises really are a ton of fun and you get to meet people from all over the world. Would you go on another one?
Yes, I would go on another one if it were in Mediterranean or Bahamas… less on ocean passage and more exploring!
