On our way down the 101, we came across the Trees of Mystery in Klamath, CA. Unfortunately, they were closed for the day and we missed out on a gondola trip up through redwood trees. Bob and Maddie posing with Paul Bunyan and Babe.
We spent four days at the Russian River. We met some really nice people that live and work here. One lady, who was 78 years old, with four cats gave us some cracked corn to feed deer. One of her cats escaped and was hunkered down under one of the maintenance sheds for the entire four days we were there.
We went down to the river and tried to skip some rocks.

On our way to Lake of the Springs. Some of the highway was lined with trees. Looked really cool and had to take a picture.
Many beautiful wineries along the highway through the Mendocino County.

Maddie took this picture as we were driving by.
We were rained out again at the Lake of the Springs. We decided to take a trip out to the Renaissance Winery for wine tasting. Loved the Cabernet Sauvignon and ended up buying a bottle from 2002. There was lots to do at this resort in the way of outdoor activities; however, the rain made it almost impossible. Maddie did manage to get this picture of a fawn right outside our trailer. Too cute.
Up next, San Francisco…
