We decided to hang out in Southern Texas for a month to get some things done before we head back into Mexico. There aren’t too many people at the RV Park yet. We were told that it starts getting busier in November when all the Snowbirds migrate down.

There are lots of interesting stores to shop at on the island, including this Jaws store.
We took a drive down to Clayton’s Beach Bar to check out the sand castle days with entries from all over the world.

We just bought a GoPro so we can start videotaping our journey. We all record videos but Maddie does all the editing and she is quite the whiz at it!

We learned that they spray a mixture containing Elmers glue all over the sculpture when done to hold it in place. This sculpture won first place.
It has been extremely hot and humid here. Yesterday it was 34 celsius, feels like 41! Luckily, we are only about 200 metres from the beach.

This is the Gulf of Mexico side of the island. The sand is powdery soft and the beach goes for miles and miles.
Monica Hair!
Lots of birds, fish and fishermen.

This is the bay side of the island. Much calmer for going out on the paddle board.
There are so many pelicans here that they put flashing lights on the bridge warning you to watch for pelicans. We drove by one day and it is was flashing. While Bob was laughing at the sign, a pelican delivered a rather large reply on our windshield.
As part of Maddie’s home schooling we make sure she gets the core 3 R’s each day but also let her focus on her interests. She loves to make videos and edit them. Check out our link to our videos in the top right hand corner. All edited by Maddie!!!
Looks amazing there! The beach looks incredible. Hopefully you don’t get too hot 🙂
Just a great place to be. And a Dutchman won the first place at the sand sulptures. Good for him. 🙂
Wondering how long the sculptures lasted…
Checked out the videos. Great footage and narrating Maddie! Really enjoyed them.
