We were told you could drive on the beach for over 150 miles. Here are a few pictures of us checking it out in South Padre Island

Lots of families were out fishing and enjoying the beach.

We stopped at the farmers market. Lots of granola, veggies and exotic fruits.
The local animal rescue had a stall set up with the cutest 3 month old kitten. We fell in love with this little guy and almost took him home.
After the market we stopped at the Sea Turtle Rescue Center where they rescue, rehabilitate and release turtles back into the wild.

The sea turtle only had one fin and a prosthesis to help it swim. Before the prosthesis, the turtle could only swim in circles.

Our token touristy picture!
A gorgeous place to be, driving on the beach, hardly anybody there, turtles.
These photos bring up memories of my far smaller pair of turtles which were my pets as a little girl. So much fun!
The market, turtle art and Turtles..miles of sand, beach fishing, another neat spot in paradise.. 😀
