The Mazatlan Carnival is the third largest carnival celebration in the world. The 2017 theme was Dragons and Alebrijes (brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures). A couple of our friends rented two hotel rooms on the second floor so we could use the balcony to view the parade (having access to a bathroom was a bonus).

The next day there was a smaller kids carnival parade. Lots of dancing, princesses and confetti!

We are still finding confetti in our truck!
We never get tired of watching the dancing horses.

Just love your travel updates ans pictures
Thank you! We are enjoying our travels. We went for a stand up paddle through the canal today and saw two Eagle Manta Rays! Unfortunately, forgot to bring the camera.
So impressive and colorful….the night time pictures turned out really well! Looks like it was a lot of fun and quite the event. Keep the photos coming!! 😀
