On our way to Lisbon, we stopped at Praia do Amado to stretch our legs. Trying to see as much of the Algarve as possible while travelling north.

Praia da Bordeira is a beach on the west coast of the Algarve in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, near Carrapateira and Bordeira. The beach is about 3km long and is a popular with surfers and kite surfers. The beach is backed by dune, cliffs and pine trees. It is one of the most beautiful beaches we have been to. We walked along the cliffs on the boardwalk. Apparently you can hike all the way to Praia do Amado. This beach had it all!

Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. We opted to camp outside of the city and take transit instead of trying to park in the city. We took a bus to the train station and started our exploring from the Rossio station. We walk

Castelo de S. Jorge or St. George’s Castle was worth the trip. It was quite the hike up the hill but we loved exploring this castle.
“Human occupation of the castle hill dates to at least the 8th century BC while the oldest fortifications on the site date from the 2nd century BC.”

After exploring the castle, we visited the Torre da Igreja do Castelo de São Jorge next door. Tickets came with a beer or glass of wine!

Praça do Comércio is an iconic landmark of Lisbon with the pastel painted buildings, bronze statue of King Jose I and large plaza on the Tagus River.
Jeronimos Monastery, erected in the early 1500’s, is a Portuguese Gothic Manueline style of architecture in Lisbon. I had to look that up. It is a very distinctive style with ornate and intricate detailing, which could be seen throughout the monastery. It was incredible.

Looks like a great trip. Beautiful photos!
